Working directly with private clients, interior designers, architects, builders and corporate clients, this is a highly personalized service designed to create custom rugs which are unique and tailored to meet the requirements of a specific interior, color scheme, space or perhaps to complement existing furniture or artworks.

Initial meeting
To begin the process of creating your Mitra Rugs, we arrange an initial meeting face to face or on video phone to discuss the creative brief for the project. We will discuss the location of the rugs, dimensions, color palette, vision and inspiration for the piece to be designed typically collaborating with interior designers or architects on the project, it is key that they are part of this process and involved in the initial meeting.
Final agreement
Once we have a feel for what you are looking for in your Mitra rug and have an idea of the amount of work required to execute your project, we will provide you with a staged invoice with costing for the square footage of material used, finishings, and delivery method. Keep in mind as production progresses, there may be some changes depending on the, weaving production, shipping carrier and weather compliances due to drying of the rugs.
Design Process
At Mitra Rugs, your space will be personally consulted discussing your design concepts, choosing from a variety of colors from our POM color system. You will be able to customize your rug by choosing your desired weaving patterns, materials, finishing techniques, and colors combinations in which your vision will be executed to perfection.
Mitra will then draft a couple designs for your space and allow you to make alteration requests. Presented as a graphic design, the final concept will be refined in line with your feedback through to agreement of the final finished design. Mitra will also discuss options on delivery with customers according to size and urgency of project.
Once the final specification is confirmed and the exact costs for production, lead time, and time of delivery of the final rug can be agreed upon, Mitra then submits the design project to her in house designer. If for any reason you do not wish to proceed after the initial stages of design, you will only be charged for the design work completed.
CAD Draft
Our manufacturer has an in-house auto CAD designer with the leading software system in which their job is to make a CAD in clients preferred size, design and color coding. Once Mitra has approved of final CAD, weaving production by our certified weavers will then commence at which 50% of the cost of your rug will be collected as the down payment for manufacturing process to begin.
Once the final piece has been inspected by our head of manufacturing it is sent in for texture finishings, hand washing and sun drying.
