Hand Tufted

Hand Tufted

The Chinese hand-tuft rug and carpet technique was invented by a young Hong-Kong textile engineer in the mid 20th century as an alternative to hand-knotting. The Modern Hand Tufting gun is used to create different textures and patterns on commercial and residential carpets and area rugs. Most of Mitras designs are made with this hand tufting technique. Below are some of Mitras tufted designs.

Deep Embossed

Deep Embossed Rugs also known as Carving; is a suitable technique for high-density, hand tufted or hand knotted rugs. Using hefty metal sheers, we carve our designs giving a luxury embossed finished look.

Two Level Finishing

Textured finished rugs give a two-level look where Wool is down Silk is up. Using large metal sheers, the two-level designs are hand carved giving a textured and dimensional finish to the rug, establishing a modern and contemporary feel to the finished look.

Hand knotted

Hand knotting is a technique where knots are made on the loom. Our Hand knotted rugs are made in India providing exceptional quality from weavers. We typically make flatweave kilim, indo nepal, or persian knots. Our knots can go anywhere up to 200 knots per square inch.
